UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT (UNIPORT) RELEASES POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for admission into its Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, Doctorate (Ph.D), and Professional programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

✅ GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must have:

• Five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.

• However, candidates who obtained their O’Level before 2012 and do not have Mathematics may be considered only for programmes in:

  • Faculty of Humanities

  • Faculty of Education

  • Faculty of Social Sciences (excluding Economics)

🎓 AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

🔹 Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least Third Class in a related field

• OR HND with Upper Credit

• Note: For PGD in Chemistry, candidates with Third Class degrees are not eligible.

🔹 Master’s Programmes (M.Sc, M.A, MBA, M.Ed, etc.)

• Minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2) from UNIPORT or any recognized university

• Candidates from other disciplines applying for Master’s in Education must have PGDE with Upper Credit

• MBA applicants must have a strong quantitative background

• Holders of PGD must have a CGPA of 3.50 and above

🔹 Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

• Master’s Degree with minimum CGPA of 3.50

• Candidates must pass an interview and a qualifying examination

🔹 MD/MS Programmes (College of Health Sciences)

• Must be a UNIPORT MBBS graduate with at least 5 years post-graduation

• OR confirmed academic staff of UNIPORT

• Must possess a Fellowship qualification or M.Sc in a related field

1. Pay ₦15,000 application fee at any of the following banks:

   • U&C Microfinance Bank

   • UBA

   • Fidelity Bank

   • Access Bank

   • EcoBank

   • First Bank

   • Sterling Bank

2. Pay ₦15,000 for the Prospectus to:

   • U&C Microfinance Bank Ltd, Choba

   • Account Number: 1100236739

3. Download and complete the application form from the UNIPORT School of Graduate Studies portal.

📎 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Submit two copies each of the following:

• Degree or PGD certificate

• NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate

• O’Level Certificate

• Birth Certificate/Age Declaration

• Marriage Certificate/Change of Name (if applicable)

• Local Government Identification Letter

• Evidence of payment
