FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE RELEASES POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has officially announced the sale of application forms for admission into its Postgraduate Programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. Suitably qualified candidates from Nigeria and other countries are invited to apply for various programmes leading to Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Masters, M.Phil, and Ph.D degrees.

FUTA is one of the top technology universities in Nigeria, well-known for academic excellence, quality research, and innovation. The university’s postgraduate school offers a wide range of programmes for candidates who want to further their studies, improve their skills, and build a strong professional career.

A. Available Postgraduate Programmes

The following programmes are available for admission:

1. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

This is a research-based programme for candidates who wish to specialize in a particular field and contribute new knowledge. It is available in different departments under various schools in the university.

2. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and M.Phil/Ph.D

These programmes are for candidates who want to continue into a Ph.D but did not meet the requirements directly. It serves as a bridge between a Master’s Degree and a Ph.D programme.

3. Master’s Programmes

These include:

• Master of Technology (M.Tech)

• Master of Engineering (M.Eng)

• Master of Science (M.Sc)

• Master of Agricultural Technology (M.Agric.Tech)
  These programmes are designed to build advanced skills and deep knowledge in different fields of study.

4. Professional Master’s Programmes

These are practical courses designed to meet professional needs in industries and the workplace. They help graduates gain hands-on experience in their career fields.

5. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

This programme is for candidates who do not have strong first degrees but still want to advance academically. It serves as a stepping stone to a Master’s degree.

B. Admission Requirements

All candidates must meet the requirements for their chosen programme:

✅ Important Note: O’Level results like WAEC or NECO are no longer required for postgraduate admission.

C. Duration of Programmes

The time frame may vary depending on academic performance, research progress, and project submission.

Steps to Apply:

1. Visit any of the websites listed above.

2. Click on “Apply for Postgraduate Programmes”.

3. Create an account using your email.

4. Fill in your personal and academic details.

5. Upload required documents.

6. Pay the application fee of ₦20,000 through REMITA.

7. Submit and print your acknowledgment slip.

Transcript Submission

Applicants who graduated from other universities (non-FUTA graduates) must request their schools to send their official academic transcripts directly to FUTA at the address below:
