About 53 persons have been arrested by security operatives in connection with the looting of properties at the orientation camp of the National Youth Service Corps in the Kubwa area of Abuja, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has said.

He also assured that those who looted the NYSC camp, stealing kits and other items would be punished accordingly.
Adamu stated these in an interview with journalists after an on-the-spot assessment of the NYSC camp in conjunction with the NYSC Director-General, Brig. General Ibrahim Shuaibu, on Friday.

According to him, some of the looters have voluntarily returned some of the items that were stolen.
