The management of the University of Ibadan (UI) wishes to inform all applicants who registered for the 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise that the examination has been scheduled to hold from Monday, 25th August to Wednesday, 27th August, 2025.
This is an important stage in the admission process, and every candidate who applied to UI must take part in the screening to be considered for admission.
How to Access Your Exam Details
All registered candidates are expected to log into the University’s official admission portal.
To log in successfully, you will need the following details:
JAMB Registration Number
Password (created during Post-UTME registration)
Once logged in, candidates should print out their photocard.
Why the Photocard is Important
The photocard is a compulsory document for the screening exercise. It contains vital information about your examination, including:
- Your exam date
- Your exam time
- Your exam venue
Without the photocard, you will not be allowed into the examination hall. Candidates are strongly advised to keep their photocards safe and bring them along on the exam day.
Step-by-Step Guide to Printing Your Photocard
For the benefit of all applicants, here is a simple guide to help you print your photocard without stress:
- Visit the UI admission portal.
- Click on the Login button.
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number.
- Enter your Password (the one you used when registering for the Post-UTME).
- After logging in, locate the option to Print Photocard.
- Download and print the document.
- Keep several copies for safety, in case one gets missing.
Tips for the Exam Day
To help candidates prepare well, the following tips should be noted:
- Arrive Early
- Candidates should arrive at the exam venue at least one hour before the scheduled time. This will give you enough time to locate your hall, settle down, and avoid rushing.
- Bring the Required Documents
- Photocard (compulsory)
- A valid means of identification (e.g., JAMB slip, school ID, or national ID)
- Writing materials as instructed
- Dress Neatly and Decently
UI has a reputation for discipline and excellence. Dressing properly creates a good impression and avoids unnecessary distractions.
- Follow Instructions Strictly
- Pay close attention to instructions from invigilators and officials.
- Avoid any form of malpractice, as UI has strict policies against cheating.
- Stay Calm and Focused
The exam is designed to test your readiness for university education. Stay relaxed, read instructions carefully, and attempt questions wisely.
General Advice to Candidates
Make sure your internet connection is stable when logging into the portal to print your photocard.
Print your photocard several days before the exam, not on the morning of the test. Last-minute printing may cause unnecessary stress.
Double-check the exam date and venue written on your photocard. UI has many halls, so confirm your specific location.
Candidates are encouraged to practice past Post-UTME questions to get familiar with the exam style.
Important Reminder
The photocard is compulsory. Without it, you will not be allowed into the exam hall.
Candidates who misplace their photocard must log into the portal and print a new one before the exam date.
Mobile phones, calculators, and other electronic devices are usually not allowed in the exam hall. Candidates should only come with the required documents.
Why the Post-UTME is Important
The Post-UTME screening is one of the most important steps in the admission process at the University of Ibadan. While JAMB UTME scores are important, the Post-UTME helps the university further assess candidates’ academic ability, readiness, and suitability for admission.
Performing well in the exam greatly increases your chances of securing a place in your chosen department.
Closing Note from the Registrar
On behalf of the University, the Registrar, G. O. Saliu, appreciates all candidates for choosing the University of Ibadan and wishes them success in the forthcoming screening exercise.
The University remains committed to fairness, transparency, and merit-based admission. All candidates are encouraged to prepare well, remain disciplined, and give their best during the examination.
