DELSU Introduces New Admission Screening Format: Adopts 70/30 Grading System

The Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has officially revised its admission screening process by adopting a new 70/30 grading system for evaluating prospective students.

What’s New?

Under the new system:

• 70% of a candidate’s admission screening score will now be derived from their UTME (JAMB) score.
• 30% will come from the candidate’s O’Level results.

This marks a significant shift from the university’s previous 50/50 grading system, where:

• 50% of the score came from the UTME (JAMB), and
• The remaining 50% was based on performance in the Post UTME examination.

What Does This Mean for Candidates?

With this change, DELSU has officially scrapped the Post UTME examination. Instead, the university will now rely on UTME performance and O’Level results to determine a candidate’s eligibility for admission.
