Kaduna Polytechnic has expelled 85 Students from various departments.

The circular indicated that the disciplinary measures were taken by the academic board of the institution during its extra-ordinary meeting held on 25th August 2021 where it considered the reports examination malpractice committed.

Out of the 96 students tried for examination malpractice, 85 were expelled.

Eight others were suspended for failure to appear before the examination malpractice committees.

While one was exonerated, another was rusticated and one other had his certificate withdrawn for impersonation in exams hall.

The University of Ibadan maintained its top spot in Nigeria and ranked 401-500 out of over 1,600 institutions across the world.

This was according to the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings released in September 2021.

However, the University of Lagos moved a step ahead to rank second in Nigeria and 501-600 across the world.

Covenant University took the 3rd in Nigeria and ranked 601-800 in the world.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State University dropped to sixth in Nigeria behind the University of Ilorin, the University of Nigeria, and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Yanusa Ranatu from Kwara State who just concluded her registration at Kaiama orientation camp yesterday gave birth to a baby boy at the Bayelsa State Referral Hospital, Kaiama, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.

The State Coordinator, Mrs Ojugo Iyowuna who led a delegation of key camp officials to visit her in the hospital, presented items needed to support the baby and his mother.

The corps member who commended the NYSC for its quick intervention in coming to her aid said the NYSC scheme is truly a caring institution that has changed many lives.

The state Coordinator who thanked God for the safe delivery of the mother also appreciated the doctor-in-charge, Dr Mbanusi Chiebonam Clara who is also a serving corps member and nurses on duty for their resilience during the delivery process.

As of the time of filing this report, it was learnt that the doctors had certified that the mother and baby are in good health condition.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 22-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving member, Arnold Maniru, in Abuja for importing four kilograms of drugged candies from the United Kingdom.

Dreams of no fewer than Nine Hundred and eighty students who were duly admitted into the Taraba State University to pursue their academics have been dashed.

This followed their inability to register within the specified period of time and participate in the just-concluded matriculation exercise carried out by the institution..

The school Vice-Chancellor, Professor Vincent Ado Tenebe who confirmed the withdrawal of their admission letters, said out of the 5,870 students recently given admission, only 4, 890 only 4, 890 registered and took the matriculation oath.

By the institution’s tradition, the students who had failed to present themselves for the tomatriculation, automatically lose their admissions into the institution.
