Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the JUPEB programme of Renaissance University. This programme is designed to prepare candidates seeking Direct Entry admission into 200 Level undergraduate programme of Renaissance University.

The Programme leads to the award of JUPEB Certificate which enables successful candidates, after the examinations administered by JUPEB to gain Direct Entry admissions into 200 level of the Degree of Renaissance University.

Eligibility:

• Eligible candidates must possess a minimum of 5 Credits at a maximum of two sittings in at least 5 subjects relevant to the candidates desired course (English and Mathematics included).

Application Process:

• Applicants should visit the school’s website to complete the online JUPEB Application Form from the school’s Admissions Page
• Complete the online form by providing the details required for the JUPEB programme.
• Payments are made by raising a bank draft of Two Hundred and Thirty-Six Thounsand Naira only (N236,000) from any bank in favour of Renaissance University and submitted upon arrival to the university. This amount covers the following:
• School Fees and Accomodation – N200,000
• Acceptance Fee + Registration – N36,000

METHOD OF APPLICATION

• Requirements For Regular Admission

Candidates are expected to possess the following

• A Minimum JAMB score of 120 (RNU’s minimum UTME score)
• Five (5) credits in WAEC or NECO (not more than two sittings)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cleared and released the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results of 14,620 candidates hitherto under investigation while results of 93 candidates have been withheld.

Spokesperson of the Board, Dr Fabian Benjamin in a statement in Abuja, said this followed the consideration and further approval of the recommendations of the investigators by the Board’ management at a management meeting held on Tuesday, 27, July 2021.

Recall that the Board, in its earlier release, stated it would still review the results of the 2021 UTME exercise and any candidate found wanting would have his/her result withheld

Out of the withheld results, thirteen were discovered to have been involved in examination infractions after they were released and the one earlier withdrawn bringing the total of the results that have been withdrawn to fourteen.

In a similar vein, the results of the 332 blind candidates whose examination was conducted this month have also been released.

The withdrawn results are for the following candidates: Gabriel Micheal; Lawson Ruth Joy; Sadiq Mahbub Auwal;

Attama Lawrence Ikedichukwu( earlier withdrawn); Tambaya Yahaya; Anowa Anointing; and Ogbonna Joseph Dibia.

Other affected candidates are: Ani Maryrose Ada Loiki; Ayomiposi Precious; Ekeocha Chinecherem Michael; Oluwarotimi Toluwanimi Ayanfeoluwa; Edu Teslim Abiola; Simon Friday Promise and Onyeama Odi.

The Board had earlier announced the withdrawal of the result of a candidate, Attama Lawrence Ikedichukwu, for alleged impersonation during the just-concluded 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Board said its investigations revealed that Mr Lawrence had hired a professional examination taker to sit for the examination on his behalf.

However, his luck ran out when the Board’s post-examination processes discovered that the candidate had been impersonated in the course of the examination, a statement by the spokesperson of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin said on Tuesday in Abuja.

Benjamin said on further scrutiny, other hidden dimensions to the case were also unravelled which the candidate had admitted to in the course of perpetrating the fraudulent act.

He said following Management’s consideration and approval of the recommendations of the investigators, “the result of Mr Attama Lawrence Ikedichukwu, whose examination was taken on his behalf at the University of Nigeria, MTN Library, Nsukka, Enugu State, on Tuesday, 22, June 2021, during the second session of the examination for that day, has been withdrawn.”

The Board restated that no result obtained through fraudulent means would be allowed to stand.

He said: “It should be noted that the cancellation is in line with the Board’s policy of cancelling any result fraudulently obtained by any candidate even when such had been released.

The JAMB change of course and institution for 2021 has started. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all candidates who wish to change their course or institution to proceed to the board’s site and follow the procedure as displayed.

The process is currently ongoing and costs N2,500 and can only be processed online, just like every other process of the board.

All candidates who wish to effect changes on either their course institution or their bio-data can proceed to do so at the closest JAMB CBT accredited centre.

You can also correct your Bio-data which include your name, date of birth, gender, State and Local Government of origin.

Before you proceed to do that, please make sure you do the following;

Be sure of the Course/Institution you would like to make changes. Verify if the course is available in the school using the JAMB Brochure.

Ensure that the school you are changing to does not usually have a cut off mark higher than your score.

Ensure you select a Course/Institution that is in line with your subject combination to avoid being screened out during your school’s admission screening exercise.

Process Flow for 2021 JAMB Change of Course, Institution and Date Correction

Log into your JAMB profile

Open the menu tab on your JAMB profile

Click Register, under register a drop box will appear showing UTME correction of data

Click it and follow the steps to pay either online or bank. You can make your payment online via JAMB portal.

If you are having difficulties doing that, you can pay to the bank.

After paying N2,500 at the bank plus additional bank charge of N100 naira, proceed to either the closest JAMB office or a JAMB accredited centre to complete the process. An additional fee will be charged for the service.

Note:

You can carry out all of the above process at an accredited centre.

Important Notes:

You can change one or all your courses/institutions at the same time.

Once the form is submitted, you can no longer make any changes again except for change of course and institution that can be done twice.

There may be a limited number of schools or courses you can change to, so be sure to have 3 or 4 options, just in case the one you want to change to is not available.

The cost for the change of course and Data correction is ₦2,500.

You can use the one time payment of ₦2,500 to change your institution, course, name, date of birth, State and Local Government of origin.

This is contained in a statement issued by Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head, Media and Publicity, in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said that upon investigation, it was revealed that Ikedichukwu had hired a ”professional examination taker” to sit for the examination on his behalf.

Following management’s consideration and approval of the recommendations of the investigators, the result of Ikedichukwu, whose examination was taken on his behalf at the University of Nigeria, MTN Library, Nsukka, Enugu State, on June 22 during the second session of the examination for that day, has been withdrawn.

“The board wishes to restate that no result obtained through fraudulent means will be allowed to stand.

It should be noted that the cancellation is in line with the board’s policy of cancelling any result fraudulently obtained by any candidate even when such had been released,” he said.

He added that the perpetrator would be handed over to relevant agencies for prosecution to serve as a deterrent to other would-be infractors.

He said that the board urged candidates and the general public that it would painstakingly scrutinise the entire examination processes with the provision that the results obtained through fraudulent means would be withheld and after thorough investigation, cancelled as the case may be.

In the meantime, the board is engaged in the viewing and assessment of all CCTV footage of the examination as well as the adequacy or otherwise of the security measures put in place to forestall examination infractions.

“The board warned that the above stated case might just be the first of the many that would be unearthed in the course of the review as many more infractions might yet come to light,” he added.

He added that a top security officer, who had facilitated the forgery of the board’s admission letter, was being investigated for possible culpability and subsequent prosecution.

YABATECH… First and Still the Best!!!

The 2020/2021 Matriculation Ceremony for all Fresh Students has been scheduled for Friday, 30th July, 2021. However, in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the need to observe all protocols, specific number of Freshmen have been allocated to represent each Faculty PHYSICALLY (inside the Hall) at the Ceremony while all other Freshmen will attend/monitor the proceedings ONLINE. The approved number of Freshmen to be allowed into the hall is attached for your attention.

In view of the above, all Faculty Officers are expected to collect Academic Gowns for their Fresh Students from the Directorate of Students’ Affairs from Monday, 26th July, 2021.

To this end, each Fresh Student is expected to make online payment of the sum of One Thousand Naira (#1,000.00) and obtain a Receipt for the collection of the Academic Gown at their various Colleges/Faculties.

Only Freshmen who are robed and with appropriate face masks will be allowed into the venue of the Ceremony. All other fresh students who are unable to enter the Matriculation Hall can monitor the proceedings online via the University’s YouTube Channel, Facebook and other media to be announced.

After the Matriculation Ceremony, each Faculty shall be required to return the following to the Directorate of Students Affairs on or before Monday, 2nd August, 2021:

The Kwara Branch, Nigerian Medical Association says it will endow the best graduating medical student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) with 250,000 Naira.

Dr Issa Baba, Chairman of the chapter, said at a press conference on Monday in Ilorin that the endowment fund would be shared over the next 10 years.

“We, on our part, have reciprocated by endowing a token of N250, 000 (shared over ten years) as an annual prize to the best graduating medical student.

“This is the first time in the history of NMA in Kwara State,” he said.

Baba said that the gesture was to appreciate the leadership of the university led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, for appointing the association’s members as directors and chairmen of different committees in UNILORIN

According to Baba, we are grateful to the management of the university for the appointment but we still want more for our members.

“We are grateful to the University of Ilorin for finding our members appointable into positions of responsibility.

“We have never, as doctors, have as many directors and chairmen of committees as during the tenure of Abdulkareem”, he said.

Speaking on welfare of members, Baba appealed to the Federal Government to give more to health workers to reduce the exodus of health workers for greener pastures.

He said that many doctors had left University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for greener pastures during and after their residency.

“The doctors have not been optimally replaced because of the bottlenecks created by government’s Integrated Payroll and Personnel System (IPPIS), which has restrained federal hospitals from recruitment,” he said.
