All candidates who have been offered provisional admission into the Borno State University, (BOSU) Maiduguri undergraduate degree programmes for 2019/2020 academic session are hereby informed that the registration procedure has been published. They are to proceed with the screening, clearance and registration exercise for 2019/2020 academic session.

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION

1. Candidates are to log into JAMB Portal, accept the admission offer and print out their personal/institution’s copies of Admission letter.

2. Upon presentation of JAMB’S copy of Admission Letter, the Internal Admission Letter of the Institution will be issued to the candidate.

3. Candidate should present him/herself before the Screening Committee with the following documents:-
i. Original JAMB Admission Letter
ii. Original JAMB result slip
iii. Original Institutional Admission Letter iv. Original SSCE
v. Original Certification of Indigene

4. After successful screening by the Committee, the candidate should present him/herself to the Faculty Officer for collection of Identification Number.

5. Candidates should pay his/her registration fees at the Central Registration Centre.

6. Candidates are to report to their various departments for departmental registration.

7. Finally, candidate should report to Exams & Records Office for final registration with the following items:-
i. Completed Registration Forms (in triplicates)
ii. Photocopies of relevant documents (Admission letter, JAMB Slip,
SSCE, Screening Form, Indigene Letter and Bursary Receipt)

Caleb University Imota has expressed satisfaction at the solutions developed by LASU in recent times.

This was expressed when the Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie met the ICT/Computer Science team led by Dr Akeeb Oyefolu on Wednesday, at a follow up meeting to Caleb University’s request for the development of some software solutions.
At the briefing, Dr Toyin Enikuomehin, the Acting Head of Computer Science, made a presentation showcasing how far LASU has gone in ICT and associated services.
Members of Caleb University Management commended the LASU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, SAN for creating an enabling environment for these developments.

The day coincidentally marked the maiden edition of the ‘One Day Acting Vice Chancellorship initiative’ of the Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie led administration. The initiative permits the Vice Chancellor to appoint one of the graduates of the University under the special Caleb Graduate Development Scheme, to be a “one day acting VC” each month, as a way of encouraging and motivating students to live the core values of the University and work hard in their various field of study. The first One Day acting Vice Chancellor, Mrs Chiamaka Joyce Ehizenagah, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology, had a full day of activities and was impressive in discharging her roles in meetings with Management and All Staff, and working visits to departments.

The Management expressed their appreciation at the LASU team”s visit and took decisions to move the collaboration forward. The LASU team acknowledged that Caleb University is in tune with latest technological advancement required for university education.

The vice-chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun, said he applied for the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) five times before approval was given.
He made the disclosure in a chat with newsmen shortly after a book on the Law profession, written in his honour by the Faculty of Law of the university, was presented to the public last week.
SAN is the highest professional title conferred on distinguished legal practitioners of not less than 10 years standing in the profession in Nigeria, and Professor Fagbohun was given the title in September last year.
The 21-chapter book is entitled ‘Reflections on Dynamics of the Law’.
Among the personalities at the launch were the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa (as guest of honour); Hon Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (as chairman); a former vice chancellor of LASU, Professor Abisogun Leigh; Mr Olatunji Adejuyigbe (book reviewer) and the dean of the Faculty of Law, LASU and Professor Funminiyi Adeleke.

Speaking further, the vice-chancellor said though he had no inkling that he would apply up to five times before being given the honour, he never once considered jettisoning the ambition.
“My belief in life is that whatever I cannot achieve today, I should not give up on it but try another time until I’m able to get desirable result. What I do is to re-strategise and pray unto God for strength to enable me forge ahead – and that has been working positively for me,” he said.
Fagbohun, a Professor of Environmental Law and eighth VC of LASU, said he was highly elated for the honour done him, promising that LASU would continue to produce graduates who are globally relevant and engage in research and community activities that meet societal needs.

…No directive yet for Stream 1 admitted students to pay Acceptance fee
The attention of the Lagos State University Management has been drawn to information being shared on social media about a purported screening of “First Stream” ( Stream 1) candidates for the 2019/2020 Academic Session.
The peddlers of the information also released timetables of the said screening exercise purportedly to hold in two batches between December, 2019 and January, 2020.
The General Public is hereby informed that the information is fake and should be disregarded as it did not emanate from the authority of LASU. For the avoidance of doubt, the 2019/2020 UTME Admission Exercise is closed and the University is not conducting any further screening for the exercise.
Furthermore, the information making the rounds that the University had directed Stream 1 admitted students to commence the payment of acceptance fee is untrue. No such instructions has been given.
Official communication on the payment of acceptance fee will be disseminated in due course via the University’s official information platforms.

The 2019 edition of Ready Set Work Initiative, an employability and entrepreneurial training programme set up by the Lagos State Government, through the Office of the Special Adviser on Education, for Final year students in Lagos State Tertiary Institutions is set to resume this November.

To kickstart this year’s edition, a Sensitization Programme with the Special Adviser on Education, Mr Tokunbo Wahab, will hold as follows:
